Logitech G303 Daedalus Apex

Here we have another great gaming mouse, part of the Logitech’s G-series. It is identical to the previous model, the Logitech G302 Daedalus Prime, that was the best MOBA gaming mouse so far, but now we have G303 Daedalus Apex that ups the game with being more versatile and having a better sensor. Both product list at the same $50 price, so why not get a gaming mouse with a 12.000 DPI sensor. What makes the Apex the best MOBA gaming mouse so far is not only the best sensor, but also the super responsive buttons with quick and tight click that every MOBA fan would love. There is nothing spectacular about the Logitech G303 Daedalus Apex’s design apart from the RGB lighting that allows you to pick from 16.8 million colours and set the lighting to solid colour or “breathe mode” and customize the brightness level as well. Other than that, the G303 Daedalus Apex has fairly standard design with left and right click buttons and a scroll wheel, a DPI adjustment button, located just beneath it and two thumb buttons. There are no thumb rests and sharp edges, the design is nearly ambidextrous and the Logitech G303 Daedalus Apex feels comfortable, especially for gamers with claw or fingertip type of grip. The G303 is lightweight and fairly small in size, all the buttons are distinctive and fitted with a “Metal spring button tensioning system” to provide just the right resistance for quick and tight clicks. As a whole the G303 Daedalus Apex has a low to the ground profile that can jeopardize some player’s comfort, but up the usability and performance. With its non busy design and great quality build, the Logitech G303 Daedalus Apex is a gaming mouse that will last for years.

For a gaming mouse with a simple design, the Logitech G303 Daedalus Apex offers a great level of customization with the help of Logitech Gaming Software. In other Logitech gaming mice reviews we have mentioned how straightforward and easy to use Logitech Gaming Software is. It is easy and quick to find and download and gives you quite a lot of options to fine tune your mouse. As a start you can play around with the lighting and program the 6 buttons the mouse has. You can change the DPI settings, assign commands or Macros to any of the 6 buttons. The Apex can also perform surface tracking with the help of the Logitech Gaming Software in order to reduce the lift-off distance and optimize the accuracy and precision of movement. Of course, all this is possible thanks to the optical sensor with Delta Zero Technology - the PMW3366. The optical sensor delivers one of the best performances when tracking, minimizes the acceleration for quicker reactions and great targeting. The sensors with integrated Delta Zero Technology are designed to avoid angle snapping, or in other words, they do not smooth your hand’s movements and provide higher accuracy.

The Logitech G303 Daedalus Apex also gives you the opportunity to store up to three profiles of programed Macros, skills and lighting preferences in the mouse’s internal memory, that makes the mouse compatible with Windows and Mac as well.

We have first tested the Logitech G303 Daedalus Apex with League of Legends and Dota 2 to check how the gaming mouse performs in MOBAs and it was excellent as expected. However, we didn’t limit us to this game genre only. We have also tried it with Battlefield: Bad Company 2, StarCraft II: Wings of liberty and Star Wars: The Old Republic. The Logitech G303 performed very well in the FPS game as it was easy to switch DPI on the fly and shoot down the enemies. We were able to assign favourite commands to the thumb buttons for the RTS that was helpful as well, but two thumb buttons are probably just not enough for the hardcore MMO fans.

The Daedalus Apex delivered excellent performance in all game genres, it is fast, accurate and precise. Honestly, although the design is simple and the lighting is cool, in our opinion is not the most comfortable mouse for palm grippers, but if you have claw or fingertip grip, you would find the Logitech G303 Daedalus Apex very comfortable.

Overall, the Logitech G303 Daedalus Apex is one simple, clutter-free gaming mouse that delivers excellent performance, it is very accurate and gives you quite a lot of options to play around with in order to make it your own. The regular price is of $70 that is a bit a lot to ask for fairly simple gaming mouse, but it will not disappoint you and will be your good friend for years.
